Please Give What You Can - A Menu for Hope

When I started finding out that there was a whole community of food bloggers, I had no idea what an amazing bunch of people it actually was. Now an event is happening that makes me proud to be even remotely associated with such a wonderful group of people.

A Menu for Hope is an online campaign to raise money to assist victims of the devastating earthquake in the Kashmir region of India and Pakistan. Started by famous food blogger Pim, the campaign offers two ways food bloggers could help in this fundraising effort. Lots of creative people came up with interesting prizes that will be raffled off. I never did manage to think of a prize that I thought other people might actually pay money for a chance to win, so I am contributing by bidding on prizes. My list of things to bid on is growing all the time as more prizes are offered. The original list of prizes has recovered from technical difficulties that were plaguing Typepad users over the weekend, and is expanding all the time. Please give what you can by visiting First Giving, the fundraising organization that is handling the donations. All funds go to UNICEF.

(Note from Kalyn: I am reposting this in case people missed it the first time.)

Thanks for joining the conversation! I love hearing from readers and even though I can't always reply to every comment, I will always answer specific questions on a recipe as soon as possible. Sometimes I'm answering by iPhone, so my replies may be short!
