I was tagged by Anthony of Anthony's Kitchen for this meme. I truly hope my answers aren't too boring, but I find I have less and less time lately to read other food blogs. I can't wait until summer vacation so I can catch up on all the new great blogs out there. It seems like every time I get a chance to sneak a look the internet I see at least 10 new blogs I haven't seen before.
If you know my reputation as "The Woman Who Never Followed a Recipe in Her Life" maybe you will understand my need to add a bit to this meme too. I don't know who originally started it, but I hope they will forgive me.
1. Please list three (or more) recipes you have recently bookmarked from foodblogs to try:If you know my reputation as "The Woman Who Never Followed a Recipe in Her Life" maybe you will understand my need to add a bit to this meme too. I don't know who originally started it, but I hope they will forgive me.
Sadly, I bookmark a lot of recipes to try, and also to feature in my *Food Blog Finds* where I spotlight recipes from other blogs, but I hardly ever get around to trying them, and don't get around to writing *Food Blog Finds* often enough lately either. I'm thinking I need to start creating new recipes a bit less and get a little more disciplined about my blogging schedule. Anyway, here's a tiny portion of the things I've found recently that look good:
Rosemary Crusted Pork Tenderloin from Is It EDible.
Swordfish Kabobs with Aioli from Beyond Salmon.
Steak au Poivre with Wasabi Parsley Sauce from Just Braise.
Ginger Chicken with Almonds from Simply Recipes.
Tuna Tataki from Porcini Chronicles.
Kibbeh from Seriously Good.
2. A foodblog in your vicinity:
Vanessa from She Craves lives just blocks from me. We live in the part of Salt Lake that the establishment around here calls "the Central Liberal Belt". (I'm not making this up.) Dooce also lives in our neighborhood, just to show you what good company we are among. Erin from Erin Eats lives in the town where I teach school, just a few miles from Salt Lake, although she could qualify to live in the "Central Liberal Belt" if she wanted.
3. A foodblog (or more) located far from you:Well, there are obviously hundreds of blogs that are far from me, but here are some blogs I love that are located in places I would love to visit:
I've been to Tuscany once, but only for a day, and I'd love to go back and I'd be sure to visit Ilva from Lucullian Delights.
I'd love to go to Japan and I'd have dinner with Crazy Gaijin from Cooking in Japan.
I want to go to India and I'd try to visit Sury from (Lima) Beans and Delhi Cha(a)t.
A person who is very special to me (who I believe would not like to have his actual name mentioned on the blog, but has told me that he does not mind if I mention him) has a son who lives in Germany, so if we went to see him I would like to visit Ulrike from Kuchenlatein.
I'd love to go to England, Scotland, and Ireland, and I'd be sure to visit Pille from Nami Nami, Squeezeweasel from Gastronomy Domine, and Mae from Rice and Noodles.
Stephanie (from the Feast Crusade) and I have already talked about traveling together, and she's obviously incredibly bright and I think she'd be great fun to visit in Singapore.
One of the top places on my list to visit is Turkey, so I would stop to see Isil from Veggie Way.
There are so many more!! Please do not feel offended if I have left you out. I want to visit every food blogger that I know.
4. A foodblog (or several) you have discovered recently (where did you find it?):
I hope people don't think this is a cop-out, but I discover so many new blogs every week from Weekend Herb Blogging that I hesitate to name just a few because I know I'll leave people out. Check out the Weekend Herb Blogging Archives and you'll see what I mean.
5. Any people or bloggers you want to tag with this meme?
This may be another cop-out, but I have so little time to read the blogs that I have no idea who has already done it. I'm going to tag anyone who has ever participated in Weekend Herb Blogging who would like to do the meme. (If you do participate in it, leave me a comment and I will add a link to your blog right here. Please, some of you guys take me up on this.)

Finally! Sitting with that light bulb shining right at the screen when I type has paid off! Thanks so much for the mention, Kalyn! Yeah, do come over here. Just see how many foood bloggers we have here! Maybe we should start a fundraising for a real Around the World Food Blog and sponsor each of us monthly to visit each other!
Fun reading your response. I also have a long list of recipes that I bookmark. I'd also like to visit some of the people who you've mentioned. ;-)
Best,
Paz
Kalyn, you know you have a standing invitation here! And I see that you did it, hinting I mean!!
Thank you very much, you are welcome Kalyn!
Ulrike from Küchenlatein
Hi Kalyn - if you want to come to Scotland _and_ visit me, you better do it soon - I'm thinking of heading back to Estonia in a year or so. Which, obviously, is a destination worth a visit on its own! Thanks for the mention:)
Kalyn - Thanks for the mention! I do hope that you get a chance to try the pork tenderloin soonsoon!
Lovely meme, Kalyn (no surprises there). It would be a joy to have you over here. You are more than welcome. If you ever seriously plan a trip around these parts, just give me a buzz; I'll be more than delighted to play host. Thanks for the mention :)
Kalyn, dahling, you are more than welcome to come and visit me in Jersey, anytime! A place, which i am sure you'll love. So, what are you waiting for? Go pack!
[ i do love the idea MM have in mind... ;-) ]
Oh, if only I had a lot of money I truly would go all over the world and meet all these great food bloggers!! I can't think of anything more fun.
Hi Kalyn,
Oops, sorry for tagging you with this meme again. That's what happens when you don't have much time to read all those wonderful blogs out there. I should have been reading more carefully. But the good news is that I got to read your answers only 5 minutes after posting mine :)
Cheers,
-Helen
