Signs of Spring in Salt Lake: Kalyn's Kitchen Becomes Kalyn's Garden

Originally I left these photos for my brother Rand, to post while I was off having fun in Washington D.C. However, Rand wrote his own food blogger post instead, which was was great fun. Now I'm posting the photos due to another sign of spring: I've been so busy working in my garden every night after work this week that I haven't really even had time to cook! It's hard to blog about food if you're not cooking!

I'm getting the garden tilled on Saturday morning, and hopefully by the end of the weekend I should have all kinds of interesting things planted. So Kalyn's Kitchen might have to temporarily turn into Kalyn's Garden if I don't get much chance to cook this weekend either.

Even if I'm not cooking, other bloggers are, and I've been getting entries all week for Weekend Herb Blogging. If you're a food blogger who wants to participate, simply write about any herb, plant, veggie, or flower, and include a link to Kalyn's Kitchen with the words Weekend Herb Blogging.

Send links to kalynskitchen AT comcast DOT net. After thinking about it for a while, I've decided there needs to be a deadline of 3:00 on Sunday (Utah time) to send me your permalink for it to be included for that week. The deadline of 3:00 is something I've resisted doing for a long time, but I've finally realized I just don't want to spend all night on Sunday posting things for WHB, so entries sent after 3:00 will be included in the recap the following week. I hope everyone will understand my need to make this decision.

Those are lovely pictures. Good news about the garden. I love getting my garden tilled--well I did when I had a larger garden. Now I have raised boxes, so I don't need to do that anymore. But, I miss having a large garden.

Thanks Ilva,

Sher, I've been thinking of getting raised boxes because it has taken me days of weeding to get ready for tilling (partly because I've procrastinated so long.) I guess there are pros and cons to each.

Spring it is! The flowers and your photos of them are beautiful. We planted lots of herbs this year, so we'll be joining WHB soon.
