Blog Day 2006 (Kalyn Goes Crazy on a School Night)

Sometimes I feel like I'm going completely, totally, 100% crazy trying to write this blog. I feel that way right now, after I spent two hours writing a clever witty post with lots of links for Blog Day 2006, the day when bloggers are supposed to spotlight new blogs, and my computer just froze and the whole thing was lost.

In the previous post I had explained how, after thinking about Blog Day since June, I decided not to choose any blogs that I "know" because I'd discovered so many great new blogs and I couldn't decide which ones to leave out. Instead, I decided to go to Food Porn Watch and find some brand new blogs.

Now it's 10:00 P.M., I don't feel that well, I have to go to work tomorrow, and I've left comments telling these new bloggers that I was going to spotlight them for Blog Day. I have to write something before I go to bed so I can post it tomorrow.

In the shortest Blog Day post around, here (I hope!) are the blogs I had written nice things about and urged you to go visit:

Smitten Kitchen

French Kitchen in America

What's the Recipe Today Jim?

Not Eating Out in New York

Eat

Please visit their blogs and leave nice comments so this whole Blog Day thing won't be a total bust. (And I am praying I didn't miss anyone where I had left a comment because I got so upset when the computer crashed that I honestly wasn't sure if I remembered who the fifth blog was.)

Happy Blog Day. I guess. At least the weekend is coming.

Just a reminder, Genie, The Inadvertent Gardener is the WHB host, and it's Labor Day weekend in the United States, so we're giving her until Monday to post the recap. Send your entries to genie AT theinadvertentgardener DOT com by 3:00 Sunday afternoon, Utah time, and she'll include you. Don't forget to link to The Inadvertent Gardener with the words Weekend Herb Blogging somewhere in the post. Here are the rules for Weekend Herb Blogging for more information.

Aw, thank you! I just found those last two blogs, also (and you!), and find them great reads.

I love the internet and computers - when they work! But boy when they go off on their own, and I swear they do go off on their own, it is a nightmare! Sorry you had that happen.
But, what a creative way to get your list! Great idea.
I'll check them out.

I'm so sorry that happened to you, but I think it's great that you went ahead and got the blogs listed. You went above and beyond the call of duty!

Oh no! That is not a good thing to happen, particularly when ypu don't feel good! But, you forged ahead and got the job accomplished! Good for you. Now be good to yourself. :)

Kalyn, I'm proud and impressed that, despite all your hard work and non-cooperative computer, you got a post finished and up anyway. Take a bow! Others in your situation (me? maybe.) could have just grumbled in disgust and called it a night.
You and I both discovered Mimi of French Kitchen in America. Isn't she great?

Hello. What a mess - computers are just awful sometimes. Anyway, I just stumbled on to your blog today and now have a Broccoli Cheese Breakfast Casserole in the oven. I'm one of those people who really doesn't like eggs, so I'm just trying to think positive thoughts. My husband has had great success with Atkins, but I'm trying a more modified general low-carb diet. But I wanted to thank you for the inspiration - your blog is very upbeat and makes it all sound like fun!

Deb, you're welcome. It was fun finding such great blogs.

Tanna, I have absolutely no idea what caused it. I swear the computer had a mind of its own.

Susan, thanks. I was pretty upset.

Sher, I'll try.

Christine, thanks, and fun we both discovered Mimi. She seems great.

Anonymous, good luck with the diet. It's not really that hard if you're committed.

Losing a post you've worked hard on over several hours royally stinks, doesn't it, Kalyn? I've had that happen WAAAAAAY too many times to me, but you just trudge forward. Get some sleep tonight. :)

Jimmy, thanks for visiting and hope you're doing well.

Eddie, I am soooo not a saint, (LOL) but I do try to be nice. You're collecting a lot of good Karma yourself!
