Blogher Month in Review

You might have noticed this logo over in the sidebar, but if not, now you know that I'm a food and drink editor for a site called Blogher. The goal of Blogher is to spotlight women bloggers, and my assignment is to find interesting food pieces or blogs written by women and share them with Blogher readers. (All those blogs to read. Tough work, but someone's got to do it!)

(Edit 1-31-07: When I wrote that last night I didn't realize that Blogher was turning one year old yesterday! Happy birthday and congratulations to all involved.)

The Blogher site covers a lot of topics, and sometimes it feels like no one pays attention to our little food posts. Maybe that's why I thought it would be fun to start sharing them here at the end of each month. I think I forgot about doing this in December, but here's what I've been writing about in January.

Let Them Eat Cheesecake spotlighted a variety of unusual and delicious looking cheesecake recipes I'd spotted on some of my favorite blogs.

Not Your Mother's Macaroni and Cheese gave a sampling of a few of my favorite recipes from Cookiecrumb and Kevin's Mac-n-Cheese event.

Just Pho the Taste of It was a bad pun that introduced my feature on the Amazing Pho recipe posted by Anh of Food Lover's Journey, as well as Cooking with Amy's experience sampling Pho in Vietnam.

When Ilva invited bloggers to show their kitchens, the response was remarkable and I wrote about that and the one special kitchen in Fifty Kitchens Later, There's One Very Special One.

I shared links to some great gluten free food blogs, and a feature on gluten free blogs that appeared on Simply Recipes in Blogs Can Help with Gluten Free Cooking and Baking.

Yogurt Soup and Other Turkish Delights introduced Blogher readers to Burcu's blog, Almost Turkish Recipes and linked to some of the recipes there that really appeal to me.

Indian Spices Made Easy shared a great post by Meeta of What's For Lunch Honey in which she explains the fresh and dried spices used in Indian Food.

Finally, For the Love of Soy was a spotlight on how Anna of Anna's Cool Finds made her own soy milk and tofu, and then used the soybean bran to make granola.

In the right sidebar of Kalyn's Kitchen you can find permanent links to all my Blogher posts, all the Blogher Food and Drink posts, Blogher's list of food blogs, or the main page at Blogher.

I joined Blogher a while back, can you tell me where I can find a small logo which I can place on my sidebar?

Thanks for reading this everyone. I was hoping people would like it. Pamela, you're welome to just right-click on the logo in this post and put it on your blog. It's my favorite of the logos Blogher uses.
