I can tell from my stats program that there are a lot of South Beach Diet fans hanging around this time of year. I just hope they won't go too crazy when they see this post, which is about the most decidedly not-South Beach friendly quiche my sister made on Christmas day.
If you're new around here, on Fridays I take a day off from recipes and have fun showing Friday Food Porn, things I may or may not have eaten. Well let me confess, I did eat several pieces of this quiche. After all it was Christmas! We got distracted and let the crust get a bit brown on some of them, but all four were delicious.
Don't worry though. All recipes in January will be phase one, including phase one South Beach Recipes of the Week tomorrow. (Sigh of relief from Kalyn's jeans.)

The crust looks really nice and all of the veggies inside...YUM! Congrats on your wonderful food blog! I will be voting:)
Goosh, I haven't made quiche in just forever and we always loved it.
This looks Christmas good! I think it makes perfect sense to show us why this month is Phase One.
Yummm! Looks fabulous!
Maria, thanks. The quiche was really great. Not just cheese, but cream in the eggs.
Tanna, that is not the only reason this month needs to be phase one, but it was a contributor.
Sher, thanks. It was!
Happy New Year Kalyn! Congrats on the nomination, very well deserved!
Kalyn,
Any chance of a link to a recipe or two for the Christmas Quiche? It looks like a winner for Saturday or Sunday breakfast.
Thanks!

All those wonderful quiches - how could you choose? Nice to have the memories for Diet January!
Chris, I can ask my sister for the recipe. Send me your e-mail address.
I had a request for my sister's quiche recipe, and since it's decided not sbd friendly I"m just putting it in the comments:
Avon Quiche
1 pie crust baked
4 eggs beaten
1 C half and half, heated in microwave
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. dry mustard
2 T sauteed onion
1 1/2 cups grated cheese
1/2-1 cup meat or veggies of your choice
Put meat and/or veggies and cheese and onion into baked pie shell. Combine eggs, heated half and half, salt, and mustard and pour over mixture. Bake 350 F about 45 minutes, until eggs are set.
Thanks Kalyn! I don't think I'm going to wait until the weekend... dinner tomorrow perhaps.
