South Beach Recipes of the Week #20:
Phase One Recipes

It's time for South Beach Recipes of the Week, those delicious-looking low glycemic index recipes I find on my favorite food blogs. I'm doing phase one recipes on Kalyn's Kitchen for the month of January, so these are all phase one recipes. When you see the South Beach Friendly recipes I've found on other blogs, it will help you understand why I love the South Beach diet so much. But even if you're completely uninterested in dieting, I think you'll agree that these recipes look good.



As a bonus for the first South Beach Recipes of the Week of 2007, today I'm featuring four other blogs that often have lower carb food, suitable for South Beach dieters. Follow the links below each photo to find even more yummy offerings.

My friend Alanna at A Veggie Venture started out the new year with this Perfect Pan Fried Broccoli, a tasty dish for any diet! At Alanna's blog there's also a whole section of low carb veggie choices in the recipe index. Although South Beach doesn't count carbs, low carb veggies are perfect for phase one.

Elise's Simply Recipes probably has the most diverse collection of delicious recipes of any food blog out there, and this recipe for Italian Sausage and Ratatouille really caught my eye. I'd probably use turkey Italian Sausage for South Beach, or be sure to drain the pan well if using pork sausage. My friend Christine at Christine Cooks often makes very fancy dishes, always with an eye on the carb count, but she whipped up this delicious looking Low Carb Scramble when she was heading out of town on an extended trip. You'll often find South Beach Diet friendly food at Christine Cooks, so stop by when you're reading your favorite blogs.
