South Beach Recipes of the Week #21
Phase One Dinner Ideas

It's time for South Beach Recipes of the Week, low glycemic index recipes I find on my favorite food blogs. I'm doing phase one recipes for the month of January, so this week I'm featuring phase one dinner ideas. Mix and match these recipes for a great dinner. When you see how yummy all these recipes look, it will help you understand why I love the South Beach diet so much. And if you're not at all interested in dieting, you'll still love the taste of this food.

First, a great thing to make on a stove-top grill pan. I thought this Garlicy Pan-Grilled Asparagus with Romano from Cucina Bella looked fantastic, and completely South Beach Diet friendly too.

From a blog where I always find good dinner ideas, Beyond Salmon, comes this amazing looking Greek Shrimp with Feta. For phase one you should replace the 1/4 cup of white wine with chicken stock, but otherwise this recipe is perfect.

Just look at those gorgeous looking Roasted Brussels Sprouts created by Isaiah of Gluten-Free By the Bay. This is an absolutely perfect phase one side dish, and if you've never had roasted brussels sprouts you're in for a surprise.

I love meatballs, and these Oven-Baked Swedish Meatballs from Anne's Food looked delicious to me. There are no bread crumbs in the meatballs, and since this blog is from Sweden, you can be sure that the interesting mixture of spices is authentic here too.counter customizable free hit

  4. Kalyn, I'm back - to trying to do the "low carb" thing again. I posted about it on my blog, and am asking for your moral support. I plan to try to use a lot of your recipes, so I'll let you know how it goes and how they turn out. I wish Don ate shrimp - that recipe looks good.

  5. The meatballs look incredibly appetizing! I love that they're oven baked. I've always made my meatballs that way-- quick and easy.

  6. Kalyn, this post couldn't have come at a better time. Earlier this month I said "I can lose 10 pounds without doing SBD phase 1". Oh how wrong I was! Now its 13 pounds and I'm on phase one, no doubts there. Expect lots of linky love because I need all the inspiration I can get.
