When I updated the recipe for Roasted Cauliflower with Parmesan it reminded me how simple and delicious roasted cauliflower is. And it’s obvious that I’m a roasted cauliflower fan, because I have a lot of variations of roasted cauliflower on my blog.

The  original recipe for this Roasted Spicy Cauliflower simply called for red pepper flakes. I had a few different types in my pantry, but I was excited to use the Aleppo Pepper that Burcu from Almost Turkish Recipes sent me as a gift years ago when we were doing a blog event together. And now Aleppo Pepper is something I always have on hand. I hope you’ll try this roasted spicy cauliflower dish, but use any spicy red pepper flakes you prefer if you don’t hav Aleppo Pepper.

This spicy cauliflower is a recipe that got popular on Pinterest a few years back, so I decided to update the original photos that I felt didn’t really show off how tasty it was. If you like the idea of spicy roasted cauliflower, this might become one of your favorite ways to cook it; I hope you will try the recipe!

What is Aleppo Pepper?

Burcu described Aleppo Pepper as Turkish flaked hot red pepper and said “You can use this semi moist, delicious smelling, hot, flaked red pepper while cooking or sprinkle it on your foods.” I loved the Aleppo pepper and found it to be seriously addicting. Now flash forward quite a few years and I went to Turkey where I stocked up on Aleppo Pepper. You can also buy Aleppo Pepper from Amazon.com (affiliate link), but use any type of spicy red pepper flakes you prefer.

How spicy is the Roasted Spicy Cauliflower?

This recipe calls for one teaspoon of red pepper flakes, which is enough to make it moderately spicy. If you’re not sure how much spiciness you want, you can use less and add more red pepper at the table.
