Blogher is July 27-29 in Chicago!First, my apologies if you're someone who comes here or signs up for the e-mail purely to get recipes, but actually, you do care about this, because I'm going to Blogher to learn how to make this blog better. If you read my blog last summer, you might remember how excited I was after I met other food bloggers at Blogher 2006. I couldn't believe how much I learned last year, and this year there's even more food-related content. If you're a food blogger, here are some reasons to be there when Blogher 2007 kicks off :
Learn About Food Photography
The talented Bea from La Tartine Gourmande and Lara from Still Life With and Cook and Eat will share some of the ways they get those fabulous photos, with Photoshop expert Jan Kabali leading the discussion and throwing in a few tips of her own.
Learn about Technical Tools to Build Blog Traffic
The lovely and generous Elise from Simply Recipes and Vanessa Fox from Google will do a repeat of their popular session from the March Blogher Business Conference about ways to help more people find your blog.
Relive the Menu for Hope with Pim
The charming and well-traveled Pim from Chez Pim will touch down in Chicago long enough to speak at a session on fundraising where she'll share her experiences in raising money through the popular food blogging fundraiser A Menu for Hope.
Hear Food Bloggers Dish About Foodblogging
There's sure to be a lively discussion when Shuna from Eggbeater, Alanna from A Veggie Venture, Susan from FatFree Vegan Kitchen, Nupur from One Hot Stove and Jasmine from Confessions of a Cardomom Addict talk about the ins and outs of blogging about food. That's a lot of food blogging talent, and I'm the moderator for this session, so if you're planning to be there, I'd love to hear what you'd like me to ask this crew of well-known bloggers.
There's more! If you want to read about all the other sessions, check out the schedule for Day One and Day Two. Visit Blogher.org to register or get more information about hotels and venues.
Let Us Know if You're Coming!
There are plans to organize some kind of Food Blogger Meet-Up during the conference, although we don't know for sure where or when. If you're coming to Blogher, let us know so we can include you in those plans. Here are the food bloggers I've heard are coming:
Bea from La Tartine GourmandeLara from Still Life With and Cook and Eat

Pim from Chez Pim
Shuna from Eggbeater
Alanna from A Veggie Venture
Susan from FatFree Vegan Kitchen

Even though I can only be there for Day One, I'm so excited to get to meet some of these fabulous bloggers who I've only met through reading...and to get to reconnect with those who I've met but haven't seen in awhile! It's going to be a great time...I'm thrilled to be attending.
Hi Kalyn, I’ve cooked your beans with lemon, parmesan again (this is my favorite) and yellowtail teriyaki. Then, I’ve posted it on my blog, so would you tell me if you don’t like it, I will delete it.
I would really like to be there - but it's a bit of a trip for me. Do you know if there are transcript available for those of us who can't attend? Then we could pretend....
Genie, really looking forward to meeting you!
Millufe, I'm honored you like the beans enough to post about my recipe! Thanks.
Katie, last year there were a few people live-blogging, people posting later about the sessions, and I think podcasts of some sessions. I'm sure there will be that soft of thing this year too. Yes, it would be quite a trip for you!
Hi Kalyn: I'm coming (although I don't know if I'm considered a foodblogger), and I look forward to meeting you.
Tanya, I'd say you're considered a food blogger, after all you blog about food. Not every food blogger writes about home cooking. Look forward to meeting you too.
Hi Kalyn - I'm *tentatively* planning on coming (even though my name appears on the list - LOL). DH's daughters live in Chicago and my daughter and grandson are coming with us, (IF we go...) so it will be a family reunion of sorts. I REALLY, REALLY want to go, it just depends on DH's schedule as there is no way I'm driving in that city myself! I'll definitely let you know closer to the time. Can't wait to meet you and the rest of my "heros"!
Hi Sally,
I hope you can come. If it doesn't work out, let me know and I'll take your name off so people aren't looking for you there.
Oh what a fun time! I wish I could be there. We'll be in Chicago two weeks before that. Not sure if I can swing another trip.
Hi Kalyn,
Although I have not officially registered (I need to do that soon), I will definitely be at the Blogher Confrence. I am really looking forward to it...I have alot to learn and am excited to meet some of the food bloggers that I admire!
I would love to be included in any type of food blogger gathering...Thanks!
Kristen, do hope you can make it. I read your blog all the time.
Dani, so glad you can come. I'll add you to the list.
Great job in summarising what we'll be up to in Chicago! Hoping we'll be able to meet as many people as possible.

Looking forward to seeing you there!
Jasmine, thanks. I think it will be great to meet all these other bloggers. Last year it was so fun.
Bea, can't wait to meet you too and to attend your food photography session.
That sounds like so much fun, and also very informative & educational. Who knows, maybe one day I can attend it, too:)
Pille, it seems to be moving East, so maybe next year it will be closer for you. (I'd LOVE to meet you, and I do hope you can come sometime.)
I wish I cud attend the conference. But its just not possible considering the distance. All those bloggers that I admire are gonna be there.. and I, sitting at home vl be wondering how nice it wud be if i had made it there.. SIGH!!! Is there anyway u could youtube the seminars?
Suganya, sorry you can't come. I know there will be live blogging, and probably podcasts, but I don't know about video.
I just signed up last week! I'm really looking forward to your session!
Anali, thanks. I'll add you to the list. See you there.
Hmmmmm, Chicago's just a hop, skip and a jump from NYC. Perhaps I should attend. It would be fun to meet all of y'all!
Lisa, please come! I would absolutely love to meet you, and I think it's going to be the most fun imaginable.
have fun with everyone!
