Two Great Prizes for A Menu for Hope 2007

A Menu for Hope oficially kicks off tomorrow morning. That's when I'll be posting about some great prizes that have been donated by bloggers from the Central U.S. region. This post is just a little sneak preview of two prizes being sponsored or announced by Kalyn's Kitchen (and since I can't do everything at once, I need to post about my own prizes before I can write a post about all the prizes!) This year's collection of prizes is even more over-the-top fabulous than last year, and once again, all money raised goes to the UN World Food Program, so be generous, and you just might win a prize! Check Chez Pim early Monday morning to see all the prizes and get more details about how you can participate.

Last year Kalyn's Kitchen donated a Photo Studio in a Box for a Menu for Hope, and it was a popular prize. Of course everyone knows that natural light is best for food photos, but for those times when you just don't have enough natural light, this little light box is great. Here's an example of some of the photos I've taken with it if you're skeptical. To be sure you don't run out of recipe ideas for those food photos, I'm also including a copy of Fine Cooking Annual, my favorite cookbook of the year. (Photo-Studio-in-a-Box and cookbook can be shipped anywhere.)

Once again the wonderful Blogher founders have generously donated the prize of a free conference admission for Blogher's 2008 Summer conference. At Blogher 2007, there were lots of foodbloggers in attendance. The Blogher Conference is simply one of the best opportunities around to learn more about all aspects of blogging, and is open to men and women. BlogHer '08 will be July 18-20, with all events taking place at the Westin St. Francis Hotel on Union Square in San Francisco. (Conference prize is a $350 value this year, and does not include travel or hotel costs.)

Don't forget to check regularly starting tomorrow morning to see all the prizes, and then go to Firstgiving to buy some raffle tickets. You might win a fantastic prize, but most important of all, you'll be helping the UN World Food Program send food to hungry kids in Lesotho.

Oh, I'm SO buying a ticket or two for the raffle for a chance to win this awesome shooting set-up - what I wouldn't give for those lights!
