South Beach Diet Phase One Recipes Round-Up from July 2008 (Low-Glycemic Recipes)

Mashed CauliflowerKalyn's Favorite Phase One Recipe for July 2008 was
Mashed Cauliflower with Cheese and Dill

I can hardly believe another month is ending, not to mention the fact that in just 18 days I'll be going back to work (sob!) One of my goals with the monthly spotlight on phase one recipes from Kalyn's Kitchen and other blogs is to show that phase one recipes aren't really that hard to find. It must be true, because July was a busy month for me with trips to the Denny Family Campout and the BlogHer Conference in San Francisco, but I still managed to bookmark quite a few recipes. As always, I'm including things that can easily be made phase one, with those changes noted.  You can use the label Low-Glycemic Recipe Round-Ups to see all the posts like this one.

Of course, I realize many of my readers don't care about the South Beach diet, but no matter what you like to eat I promise that you'll see plenty of tasty ideas in these recipes I found in July!

Did I Miss Your Phase One Recipe?
Phase one menus for the South Beach Diet focus on lean meats, seafood, eggs, dried beans, soy products, low-fat dairy products, nuts and seeds, and most vegetables. Phase one doesn't permit fruit, alcohol, bread, rice, pasta, sugar, or any foods high in saturated fat. I can't find every phase one recipe, so if you're a food blogger who posted a recipe you think would be approved for phase one and I missed it, please feel free to e-mail me the link at kalynskitchen (at) comcast (dot) net. I'll take a look, and if the recipe is phase-one friendly, I'll add it to next months roundup. (Please don't leave recipe links in the comments. They will not be published.)

  1. I love mashed cauliflower, and your recipe kicks it up a notch! I've never tried it with dill and feta, and now, of course, I want to! These other recipe links are so helpful. That zucchini ricotta cheesecake, for example, sounds terrific!
