Happy New Index of all the South Beach Diet Phase One Recipes Featured on Kalyn's Kitchen!

South Beach Diet Phase One logoNew Year's Eve is the time for looking back on goals, and for years I've had a goal of creating a special index for all the South Beach Diet Phase One recipes that I've cooked and featured on Kalyn's Kitchen. Even though my current recipe archive pages have notations about which phase of the South Beach Diet I think the recipe is suitable for, I felt it would be even more helpful for if there was a separate index just for Phase One recipes. It's taken me quite a few hours to make new archives pages to categorize them, but I'm happy to announce that there is now an Index of South Beach Diet Phase One Recipes Featured on Kalyn's Kitchen.

I hope the new Phase One Recipes Index will be useful. I included every recipe that's phase one, even though some recipes from the earliest days of the blog make me wince a bit when I see them. But even if some of those early recipes using more convenience ingredients are not what I might cook now, they're all things I ate when I was actively losing weight and some busy cooks might like them. (For anyone who's following another type of low-carb diet, these would also be the lowest carb recipes I have on my site.)

I'll also continue doing the monthly South Beach Diet Phase One Recipe Round-ups so there will now be two easy ways to find Phase One recipes on the blog. Being able to go on Phase One for a week or two whenever I need a diet tune-up is one of the ten reasons I love the South Beach Diet, so I know I'll be using the new index myself. To make it easy to find, I've added a link for the Index of South Beach Diet Phase One Recipes Featured on Kalyn's Kitchen at the top of the recipe archives list in the sidebar.

Happy New Index and Happy New Year everyone, and welcome to anyone who's getting started on the South Beach Diet or going back on Phase One this month! I'd love to hear in the comments about your favorite thing to eat on Phase One.

Fantastic addition to your site! I know this will be so useful for all readers, not just those starting Phase One. Thank you for the many hours it must have taken to create this useful tool.

Thanks so much! I am going back to Phase One by the middle of the month (I'll "eat down my fridge" first).

This will be extra helpful. Happy New Year!

This is so fabulously helpful!! I am on day 3 of phase 1 and the cravings have been intense today. I am drinking plain cocoa mixed in hot (unsweetened, vanilla) almond milk which is yummy. Also enjoying roasted chicken, asparagus, and mushrooms atop a spoonful of pureed cauliflower.

Hi Kayln. So glad to have found your site today. I have had some health issues requiring me to change my diet last year, which put on pounds. I could not get back to South Beach until now (I had been on it for a few years) This is just the jump start I need.

I was having a big New Year's Day party at my house, so I haven't gotten back here to reply to comments, but I'm glad people are excited about the new index. I hope it will make it super easy to find good things to eat on phase one!

Im just a reader of your recipes. Ive done the SB diet in the past with good results. However Im the main cook in my family. They dont want to follow SB ways. I need to because I feel I have a gluten allergy. My stomach feels much better when I eat this way. Any suggestions on how to make this diet easier for me I hate having to cook 2 meals Im overweight, and need to figure out how to cook this way for me to be healthy, and my not complain. My husband is a picky eater wants red meat daily potatoes, and he is a candy eater daily. Im frustrated please help any comments appreciated..

Michelle, I don't really have time to give lengthy suggestions about what people should eat, but I'm sure you can find some recipes that work for you that your husband will also like. Maybe try having your husband look at recipes with you and pick some that he would like. Or cook things like pot roast and give him potatoes with his. Maybe some other commenters will have other suggestions for you too. Good luck trying some new things out on him.
