I remember how delighted I was when I discovered Sweet Potato Fries, and the recipes on my site for Air Fryer Sweet Potato Fries and Spicy Baked Sweet Potato Fries both are favorites of mine. For me this healthier type of fry might be a slight splurge on carbs, but it’s better than regular fries made with potaotes, which can really be a weakness for me (can you relate?)

And even though the sweet potato fries are tossed in a mixture of spices, I always make this Sriracha Aioli Dipping Sauce to go with my sweet potato fries. I’ll sometimes even eat this sauce on (gasp) frozen sweet potato fries like the ones in these photos, although there’s no doubt that from-scratch sweet potato fries are better.

This Sriracha dipping sauce is the perfect thing to dip up with sweet potato fries, and in my niece Kara’s family her teenagers make this over and over, even when she isn’t home. But if you don’t want the carbs from sweet potatoes fries, keep reading because this post has 15 amazing ways to enjoy the Sriracha Aioli for a low-carb treat!

What is Aioli?

When Aioli first started to appear on restaurant menus it often referred to an olive oil emulsion with fresh garlic. But the name has evolved now to be nearly synonymous with mayo, still often combined with garlic but also with many other seasonings. And now sauces that are called Aioli sometimes include sour cream or Greek yogurt as well. If you’re a purist who doesn’t think this sauce is really Aioli just call it Sriracha Dipping Sauce!

What’s the secret ingredient in this Sriracha Aioli?

Fresh lime juice is the secret ingredient that I think makes this over-the-top good! You can definitely adjust the amounts of all these ingredients to taste, and I’m such a lime fan that you might want less lime than I used. But please don’t skip the lime completely; it adds an amazing flavor note to the Sriracha dipping sauce!

  1. Mix together the mayo and sour cream until no lumps appear.
  2. Whisk in Sriracha Sauce (affiliate link), starting with a tiny amount and then tasting until it’s as spicy as you prefer.
  3. I used about 1 tsp. Sriracha sauce, if you really like hot food you may want more than that.
  4. Then whisk in the fresh-squeezed lime juice, and blend until it’s creamy with no lumps. Start with less lime if you’re not sure how much you want.
  5. That’s all! Serve with sweet potato fries or any of the other things listed above and wait for compliments.
