South Beach Diet Phase One Recipes Round-Up for March 2011 (Low-Glycemic Recipes)

Kalyn's Favorite Phase One Recipe for March 2011 was Red Lentil, Chickpea, and Tomato Soup with Smoked Paprika.
Is it really and truly April?  I don't know whether I should be shouting "Hooray" or bracing myself for more bad weather to come, but I'm happy to see April has arrived.  Of course the  new month means it's time for me to share links for South Beach Diet Phase One recipes I've posted this month or spotted on other blogs.  (And bathing suit season will be here soon, so I'm guessing there are a few people doing Phase One at this time of year, right?)

On the archives page for the South Beach Diet Phase One Round-Ups you'll see that I started doing this in March of 2008, which means for three years I've been rounding-up phase one recipes.   Yikes!  That's a lot of phase one recipes, so I've decided to start focusing on finding new ideas for phase one.  That means  from now on I may not share every phase one recipe I see, especially if there's already a similar recipe in earlier Phase One round-ups or on Kalyn's Kitchen.  I hope this makes the round-ups even more useful; let me know what you think.  I'll still share things that need only minor changes to make them phase one if they're unique dishes.  And if you're a food blogger who's posted something you think is a new idea for Phase One, check after the recipe links to see how to submit it.

Did I Miss Your Phase One Recipe?
Phase one menus for the South Beach Diet focus on lean meats, seafood, eggs, dried beans, soy products, low-fat dairy products, nuts and seeds, and most vegetables. Phase one doesn't permit fruit, alcohol, bread, rice, pasta, potatoes, sugar, or any foods high in saturated fat. Obviously I miss lots of phase one recipes, so if you're a food blogger who posted a recipe this month that you think would be approved for phase one, please feel free to e-mail me the link at kalynskitchen (at) comcast (dot) net.   12. I am newbie at trying the South Beach diet you have on your web site. With all these wonderful recipes, is there a menu plan on when to eat these dishes to lose the weight?

  13. Berneda, this is a recipe site; I don't provide menus. One way to make your own menu is to use the search bar to search for ingredients you like or have on hand. You'll get all the recipes that have that ingredient; every recipe tells what phase of the diet it is for. I also recommend reading the book if you haven't already done so.
