Kalyn's Kitchen Picks: Zout Laundry Stain Remover

I think Zout is a miracle product for messy cooks!

It feels like time for another one of my Kalyn's Kitchen Picks spotlighting a favorite product that I buy over and over, and this is the first time I've ever featured something like Zout Laundry Stain Remover.  You may be wondering how Zout can be considered a kitchen item, especially if you're one of those neat cooks who always wears an apron, keeps the counter completely cleared off, and never spills food on your clothes.  I am completely in awe of cooks like that.

However dear readers, I have to confess that I am not even remotely that type of cook!  My father used to tease me and say that after I made dinner every inch of the kitchen was dirty.  I do try to keep things under control a little better now that I'm cooking all the time, but I'm still a pretty messy cook.  I have a collection of short-sleeved T-shirts and yoga pants that I wear to cook in these days, and after a day in the kitchen they're always covered with food stains.  Zout is the only laundry spray product I've used that will completely get out greasy food stains, even from dark cotton T-shirts that can't be washed in hot water.

I've used this product for so long, I always have several bottles of it on the shelf in my laundry room just to be sure I don't run out.  It's something I've recommended to hundreds of people since I've been using it.  If you're a messy cook (or have messy kids who spill food on their clothes!) I'm pretty sure you'll love this product, and maybe even come back here and leave nice comments raving about how well it works!

Blogger Disclosure:
I purchased this laundry spray myself and Zout has no idea that I'm writing about their product.  All items featured as Kalyn's Kitchen Picks are things I will happily buy over and over, and because I want readers to know that my opinions are completely unbiased, I no longer accept sample products of any kind.  You can see the complete list of products I've chosen under the tab Kalyn's Picks below the blog header.

More to Chew On:

  1. Zout is the best!! I've been using it for years and am always happy to find other enthusiastic fans!

  2. Jane, thanks for chiming in with your love for it. I agree; nothing else is close to it.

  3. I'm going to have to try this! I have a whole wardrobe of cooking clothes, stained T-shirts and pants I've spilled on. I am absolutely a messy cook, though I clean as I go along. Thanks for the recommendation; I'll look for Zout at my local market.

  4. Oh, I am totally not that kind of tidy cook, either! When I'm done in the kitchen, there are onion peels on the floor, butter wrapper on the counters...and usually a delicious dish on the table :) Mrs. Zesty will appreciate this product recommendation :)

  5. Lydia, I'm betting you will love it! Nothing else gets out greasy stains like this does.

Zesty, so glad that you and Lydia are both admitting to being messy so I don't feel too bad.

  6. It really gets out grease? I've gone through some pretty good t-shirts that I've acquired on my travels, because of the grease stains. I've tried Dawn - rubbed it right on - and still have a few that are stubborn. I'll try the Zout on them. Thanks for posting this! It IS food related.

  7. Cyndi, try it. I promise you will be amazed!

  8. I LOVE Z'Out! I discovered it 26 years ago when I had my first baby. I learned that it could get every kind of baby stain imaginable out of her cute little baby clothes. Since then I also learned how fantastic it is for cooking stains. I always say that if I wore an apron when I cook I wouldn't need Z'Out, but I don't like wearing an apron. Thank goodness for Z'Out. Nothing gets out grease stains like it does.

I have no affiliation with the makers of Z'Out. I just love it!

  9. I live overseas, and only learned about Zout about a year ago, and always bring it back now. It is well worth it! I has saved a lot of my shirts. If you have old stains though, you may have to use it repeatedly, and sometimes even 4-5 times won't help a really old stain.... :-(

  10. Kath, I didn't realize it had been around that long, but I know I've been using it forever.

Leah, I don't think I've had many stains it didn't get out, probably because I spray them right away when I get one.

Fun hearing from other long-time fans!

  11. Good to know! I could always use a good spot remover!

  12. Carrian, I promise this stuff is THE BEST!

  13. I like Zout, and now cannot find it in any local stores. That's a bummer.

  14. Teresa, that is a drag. I haven't bought it for a while (I usually buy a couple at a time) but I think I can still get it here. I'd try, especially if you have prime for free delivery.
