South Beach Diet Phase One Recipes Round-Up for September 2012 (Low-Glycemic Recipes)

Slow Cooker Spicy Shredded Chicken Lettuce Wrap Tacos
These Slow Cooker Spicy Shredded Chicken Lettuce Wrap Tacos were my Phase One pick for September!

I normally publish my monthly round-up of Phase One recipes on the first day of each month.  But since yesterday was World Vegetarian Day as well as being Meatless Monday, it didn't seem like a good week to skip the Meatless Monday post!  But even if it's a day late, this round-up is filled with tasty-sounding Phase One ideas, just in case anyone is doing Phase One for a little pre-holiday tune-up.  And even if you're not the tiniest bit interested in Phase One, I bet you still might like some of the lovely dishes I found.

(You can use the label Low-Glycemic Recipe Round-Ups to see all the posts like this one.)
When I do this round-up I always find things that could easily be made Phase One with simple changes, so those modifications are mentioned after the recipe link.  And if you're a food blogger who's posted something that might be a new idea for Phase One, see the bottom of this post for how to submit it.

Did I Miss Your Phase One Recipe?
Phase one menus for the South Beach Diet focus on lean meats, seafood, eggs, dried beans, soy products, low-fat dairy products, nuts and seeds, and most vegetables. Phase one doesn't permit fruit, alcohol, bread, rice, pasta, potatoes, sugar, or any foods high in saturated fat. Obviously I miss lots of phase one recipes, so if you're a food blogger who posted a recipe this month that you think would be approved for phase one, please feel free to e-mail me the link at kalynskitchen (at) comcast (dot) net. I'll take a look, and if the recipe is phase-one friendly, I'll add it to next months roundup.  (Since I've been doing these Round-ups since March 2008, occasionally I may decline a recipe if the same thing has been featured several times already.  Please don't leave recipe links in the comments. They will not be published.)

I'm getting hungry just looking through all the recipes in our roundup Kalyn - the Sicilian Caponata, Shakshuka and Greek Lentil Soup with Feta and Red Pepper sound especially good to me.

As always, I love these monthly round-ups (and thanks for including some of my recipes!). Even though I don't follow South Beach, I do try to eat healthy, low-glycemic meals, and each month I find many new ideas in these posts.

Dear Kalyn, it's always a huge pleasure - and a compliment - to be included in one of your round-ups. Life's hectic at the Nami-Nami household just now, so I'm little behind with my thank you :)
