South Beach Diet Phase One Recipes Round-Up for March 2013 (Low-Glycemic Recipes)

South Beach Diet Phase One Recipes
My favorite Phase One Recipes from March 2013 were Thai-Inspired Ground Turkey Larb Salad, Roasted Bell Peppers and Red Onions with Turkey Italian Sausage, Mediterranean Spinach Salad, and Spicy Sauteed Chickpeas with Ground Beef.

It's April, and I've been living in my new house for a week and one day, and I'm completely in love with the house.  It's a good thing, because after moving 25 years of accumulated stuff, I never want to move again!  During March, all that time spent moving meant a lot less time to spend cooking or looking for Phase One recipes, but somehow I still managed to find quite a few recipes to share for the Round-Up.  And the stress of moving meant way too much comfort food was consumed, so I'll be doing Phase One myself for a few weeks during April to try to get back on track!

(You can use the label Low-Glycemic Recipe Round-Ups to see all the posts like this one.

A few of these recipes are things that could easily be made Phase One with minor changes, so those things are noted after the recipe links.  And if you're a food blogger who's posted something that might be a new idea for Phase One, see after the recipe links for how to submit it.

Did I Miss Your Phase One Recipe?
Phase one menus for the South Beach Diet focus on lean meats, seafood, eggs, dried beans, soy products, low-fat dairy products, nuts and seeds, and most vegetables. Phase one doesn't permit fruit, alcohol, bread, rice, pasta, potatoes, sugar, or any foods high in saturated fat. Obviously I miss lots of phase one recipes, so if you're a food blogger who posted a recipe this month that you think would be approved for phase one, please feel free to e-mail me the link at kalynskitchen (at) comcast (dot) net. I'll take a look, and if the recipe is phase-one friendly, I'll add it to next months roundup.  (Since I've been doing these Round-ups since March 2008, occasionally I may decline a recipe if the same thing has been featured several times already.  Please don't leave recipe links in the comments. They will not be published.)

So glad you are loving your new place Kalyn! I know I am not looking forward to moving (just the thought of it makes me cringe). I will have a big dumpster in my driveway, that's for sure. Thanks for putting this Phase One round-up together and including a few of my recent favorites!

Yippee on loving your new house, Kalyn! And I think you did an amazing job at keeping up your blogs while moving!

I'm loving that Chili Glazed Salmon recipe. We ate at one of our favorite restaurants on Saturday and I had barbecue salmon over salad greens with balsamic vinaigrette. It sounds simple enough, but the meal was incredible and beautiful, too.

Happy getting-more-acquainted-with your-new-house week!

March was a tough month for dieting in my house, so the timing of this round-up couldn't be better. A perfect reminder to get back on track! Thanks for including some of my recipes, too.

Jeanette, the actual moving was pretty horrible, but the end result is worth it!

Shirley, thanks. Your dinner sounds great.

Lydia, back to reality on the diet for me!

Thank you for great phase 1 recipes as I'm always looking for new options! I think that I'll be making your spicy sauteed chick peas and ground beef sometime soon since we both share a love for those magical delicious beans.

Hope you get settled in... and start growing a new garden! :)
