Having diet-friendly options in the freezer can really help!
One of my goals for the new year is to be more consistent about sharing these Things I'm Thinking About on Tuesday posts, so I'm kicking off 2015 with something I should have shared long ago! Above is a shot of my diet-friendly freezer, which is so helpful when I need a few days or weeks of more carb-conscious eating. I always have heat-and-eat dinners in the freezer, and I love having labeled bins of leftovers that I've labeled for Phase One (lowest-carb) or Phase Two (carb-conscious but less strictly low-carb).
Of course if you're a food blogger it's probably easier to keep the freezer stocked up like this, but cooking on the weekends and freezing things is how I started out on South Beach (back in 2004!) and it still works well for me. (You can use the photo index page for Can Freeze if you'd like to know what recipes on this site will freeze well.)
Now here are a few more things I've been thinking about this week . . .
I love the high-fiber, low-carb tortillas and pita bread from Joseph's Bakery and they're 20% off until January 14! If you're interested, visit JosephsBaker.com and use the code NEWYEARS when you order. (As always, Joseph's Bakery has no idea I'm sharing this here and they've never sent me free stuff or paid me to promote their products.)
It's true that sometimes people are intimidated about inviting you for dinner if they know you're a food blogger. Maybe this food writer's pledge can help?
My friend Lydia loves Poufs, and I understand why!
The internet is full of photos of amazing places, but this collection of 22 Astonishing Places is worth taking a look.
What do you think of this list of Eight Books Every Intelligent Person Should Read?
And finally, from The Salt: Cutting Back on Carbs, Not Fat, May Lead to More Weight Loss.
(That's all for today, but you can use the label Things I'm Thinking About to see more round-ups like this one.) What have you been thinking about this week? Please share in the comments, and if you're spotted something especially interesting, links are welcome.
